Lily and I have a great time in the car driving to and from daycare. We sing, count and talk about the day. Lily also likes to give me pointers about driving. Some of her favorites:
"Mama, slow down!"
"Mama, put down your coffee and drive with both hands!"
"Mama, you honked."
After teaching her that green means go and red means stop, I have created a monster (a cute one!). Any time the stoplight turns green, Lily starts saying, "Mama, the light is green. GO!" That's easier said than done in D.C. traffic, which is hard to explain to a 2-year-old. She gets more and more frustrated if the cars in front of me aren't moving but she takes it out on me.
"MAMA, GREEN MEANS GOOOOO!" (over and over, until we start to move.)
Hey, at least she knows her colors.
